Steps

  • Mix salt into the flour in a large bowl.
  • Mix yeast with sugar in 125 ml of hand-warm water, whisk, and leave in a warm place.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl and add the yeast mixture, kneading thoroughly until smooth dough forms.
  • Allow dough to rest while washing the bowl, then knead lightly on a floured surface for a few minutes.
  • Replace dough in the bowl, cover with cling film, and put somewhere warm until the dough has risen to double its size.
  • Roll out dough to 0.5 cm thick.
  • Remove to a floured board and roll out to 0.5 cm thick.
  • Make into one large round or cut out several small ones with a saucer.
  • Place on a greased baking tray, prick the top here and there with a fork, and prove for 15 minutes.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 190°C.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until golden.
  • Brush the top with melted butter and serve while warm.
